Access to take-off is by foot only. A short sharp carry, up the face of the hill. The rigging area is large, and the take-off is friendly.

Before you goThis site can be a good choice if Merthyr is blown out. It is fairly friendly away from the power lines, but the short ridge length and narrow lift band limit the capacity of this site on non-thermic days. This site is frequently used by model aircraft pilots, please respect their right to fly as well as your own. Site status: Open site - This site may be flown by suitably insured visiting hang glider and paraglider pilots.

Getting there

By minor roads from the A470. Parking: Alongside the road on the verge.

Weather

Beware of power lines and TV mast. Keep a sharp lookout for model aircraft. The A470 valley in front of take off is full of power lines and pylons, pilots should therefore not attempt to fly to the valley bottom.

Wind's a touch strong on launch, fine once you're off and out front.

Glassy evening glass-off, best it's been all week. Top-landed easy.
