Is it your level?Paragliding

West. A minimal carry. When rigging or inflating paraglider canopies please watch out for possible hang glider overshoot on top landing. Southwest. A very short carry up. A shallow take-off for hang gliders from the top of the ridge. Watch out for paragliders launching lower down. North. Carry across to the trig point. This take-off is mainly used for training.

Before you goA friendly site, with excellent XC potential. The main ridge has a large capacity and can support more than 50 gliders in good conditions. This reduces significantly as the wind goes off to the North or South, and the lift band narrows. The North face is small and primarily used for training, but can be soared in the right conditions. Getting there

The track from the north is closed. Use the track from the south at Mount Pleasant. The entrance to the track is approximately 200m south of the 30 mph speed limit sign at Mount Pleasant. Parking: West & North Take-off. Park well back (behind the wooden post on the right hand track), don‘t drive up to take-off to unload. Alternatively use the left-hand track, and park at the base of the hill to the South of take-off. When using this track keep a sharp look out for gliders coming in to land. Southwest Take-off. Park by the side of the road and carry up.

Weather

The usual hazards associated with a cliff edge in strong winds. There can be a sharp wind gradient in the top landing area, and strong sink in the lea of the hill. Don‘t land too far back.
